BPV is an independent charity representing the views of local parents and carers of children & young people (0-25 yrs) with SEND living in Bromley for over 12 years.
BPV is one of many charities in the country who work with external stakeholders such as education, health and statutory authorities to ensure they deliver services that meet the needs of children with SEND. BPV does this by gathering the real lived experiences of families and using this information to inform the local authority, healthcare providers and educational settings where there are problems or gaps in provision as well as when services are working well.
We provide an opportunity for parents and carers to express their views and input into the planning and delivery of SEND services. We signpost, support and empower families to obtain the best possible support and services for their children & young people with SEND.
We became a registered charity in April 2017 to help enable us to reach more families and widen the scope of our work.
The daily operation of BPV is managed by a voluntary steering group of parents & carers who themselves have children & young people with a wide range of SEND. There is also a board of trustees who oversee the governance of the charity in line with charity commission guidelines.
The Board of Trustees is drawn from within the BPV membership and from the wider Bromley SEND community, they bring a wide variety of professional skills and experience to the charity.
